We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection and privacy laws. This privacy policy applies to the personal or business information collected by Stepwork when you interact with our website (“Site”) and our products and services offered through it (“Services”). Except to the extent provided for in this privacy policy, we do not sell your personal or business information. We also use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal or business information from unauthorised users.

We collect personal or business information when you access, use, or navigate the Site, submit personal or business information to us through the Site, or otherwise interact with Site and/or the Services. The types of personal or business information we collect include the following categories:
Contact information – first name, last name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, location data, and employer and employment details.
Marketing information – details regarding informational and promotional materials you may have requested or received from us, the Services in which you are interested, your receipt of promotional communications, and information on your marketing or communication preferences.
Our offline collection of information includes information you provide to us directly (whether or not in person), including at trade shows or similar events or that we may gather on-site when doing a demo of our products.
As with most websites, when you visit our Site we automatically receive and collect information from your device. This information includes the following:
Device Information – information about your device, such as the operating system, hardware, system version, the Internet Protocol (IP) address, device ID, and device language.
Website Actions – specific actions that you take when you use our Site, including but not limited to the pages and screens that you view or visit, search terms that you enter, how you interact with our Site. Including, the time, frequency, connection, type, and duration of your use of our Site.
Communications – information regarding your interactions with email messages, for example whether you opened clicked on or forwarded the email.
Connectivity Information – Device and telephone connectivity information such as your carrier, network type, network operator, subscriber identity module (“SIM”) operator, and SIM country.
We may de-identify or aggregate personal or business information so that you are not identified as an individual, then use and provide that information to third parties without restriction. We may also provide aggregate usage information to third parties (or allow third parties to collect that information from you), who may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use our Site and our Services.
Stepwork does not collect or store the following:
Keystrokes, form inputs, screenshots, or anything nefarious. All collected information is sent to our servers over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Your Stepwork account password is also stored in an hashed format based on industry standard.
We use your information for legitimate business purposes, such as providing, maintaining and improving our Site and the Services, authenticate and manage user access, improve product performance and security, communicate with you (support, updates, marketing, etc.), fulfil legal and contractual obligations, and comply with data subject requests. We only process your information where we have a valid legal basis to do so, such as your consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with legal requirements, or our legitimate interests – provided that those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.We will always be transparent and responsible with what data we collect and how we use it when it comes to businesses to find SaaS spend savings.
At Stepwork, your privacy is extremely important to us. Except to the extent provided for in this privacy policy, we will never sell your information to third parties or software vendors. We will only share, analyse and/or store your personal or business information for the purpose of improving the Site and/or the Services.
We may share your personal or business information as necessary with companies, organizations or individuals outside of Stepwork for the purposes defined above, as follows:
Service Providers – We use third parties to assist us with operating our business and providing the Site and our Services, such as our third-party technology vendors that help us maintain the Site and our Services. These service providers will have access to personal or business information to provide services to us.
Legal Proceedings – We may share information with third-party companies, organizations, governmental authorities, or individuals if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with any applicable law, regulation, subpoena, legal process or governmental request; (ii) enforce a contract, including but not limited to any applicable terms, including investigation of potential violations thereof; (iii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues; or (iv) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Impel, our users, customers or the public as required or permitted by law.
Sale or Merger – We may share information about you as part of a merger or acquisition. If Stepwork is involved in a merger, asset sale, financing, liquidation or bankruptcy, or acquisition of all or some portion of our business by another company, we may share your personal or business information with that company before and after the transaction closes. In such a case, unless permitted or otherwise directed by applicable law, your personal or business information would remain subject to the terms of the applicable privacy notice in effect at the time of such transfer.
We won't spam you, ever, either directly or indirectly by sharing your email information. We may occasionally send one-time messages about important Stepwork news, or occasionally solicit information to improve our Site and/or the Services. We will likely continue to introduce ways that you can optionally have Stepwork contact you with data that you care about, but you will always be able to turn this on or off.
We securely store your data at Amazon Web Services - US-West-2 (Oregon) as the main hosting site, with backups store in Amazon Web Services - US-East-1 (N. Virginia).
While we can't guarantee the absolute security of your personal information, we take all reasonable steps to protect it. This includes using encryption, controlling who can access our systems, and following widely accepted security practices. We also regularly review and improve our safeguards to address potential risks. However, despite our best efforts, we can't be held responsible for any unauthorized access to or loss of your personal information.
We would like to send you information about and the Site and our Services that we think you might like. If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out at a later date.
